This is the beginnings of the cover for my novel, Dart, which will be published by Indigo Dreams next year. It's the story of a family living on Dartmoor during the Black Death, and the very finely painted picture is of hawthorn, a tree which grows in wonderfully twisted abundance all over the moor. It's the work of the very talented Bristol-based artist, Dru Marland.
Actually, it has already progressed from this, as there are now rusting ferns and reddening blackberries. Next come the rowans, clotted with berries, and then the hunched and vaguely menacing crow. Not to mention the deserted Devon longhouse in the background. I'm so excited!

Beautiful- Dru is so very talented! I love all her work- how wonderful to have her designing your cover! Your novel sounds really intriquing too. Such exciting times for you! No surprise it's all come about since you became your own person- everything is possible when there are no limitations!!
